U-Phoria with combination XLR and 1/4" jacks, can someone please clarify.

I received my U-Phoria 404HD yesterday, and spent most of the day trying to find out a simple question that I could NOT find the answer to ANYWHERE.

All I need to know is.

Can I have the 48 volt Phantom power turned on, so I can plug in my B2-Pro Condenser mic into one channel, and plug my UNBALANCED guitar into the 1/4 jack on another channel?

In other words, If I leave thee 48v phantom power ON, can I plug my UNBALANCED GENERIC guitar or keyboard into the 1/4 jacks without damaging the guitar or the U-Phoria 404HD?

    Thank you.

    Hi Carl,

Welcome to the forum. Yes of course you can have the phantom on and it will have no effect on an unbalanced input. Phantom is a small DC voltage that is part of the preamp stage and is applied to pins 2 and 3 of the XLR jack. The 1/4" unbalance signal bypasses the preamp stage.

    Thank You!!

This is what I've been looking to have answered!
This is some important information that should be mentioned in the manual
I know there's a picture of a B2-Pro plugged in and a guitar plugged into the 202 or two channel model, but I found it confusing, because I thought that one of the two channel models had a 48v channel and a regular non-powered channel.

    Anyway, Thanks so much!
