    Flashing infinium lights

I just got a used Trirec, and so far it has been amazing, it sounds perfect. But today when I started playing (at extremely loud volumes) I noticed the standby switch flashing, so I looked at the infinium lights, and as I suspected two of them were lit up. So I'm sure its just bad tubes, but I also noticed while a signal was passing through, all the lights were flickering and flashing, sometimes in sync, and sometimes in weird intervals. Is that normal? Do they always do that when there is a signal passing through? Or could the amp be defective? I've never looked at them while playing before today, and if its a problem with the amp, I'd rather just return it than pay for new valves. Thanks in advance.

Hi Carey, welcome to the forum.

Sounds like the easiest place to start would be to replace the two tubes that have the INFINIUM lights "lit up" on the rear of your amplifier. In fact, since you purchased the amp used it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and change them all out using a fresh new set of tubes. Luckily with the TRIREC's built in INFINIUM technology changing out tubes is relatively painless and less expensive then taking it to get serviced by a third party tech.

As your for question about the lights flickering at weird intervals, for the INFINIUM indicator lights on the back of the amp that's is completely normal as this means that the unit's INFINIUM circuit is doing it's job and controlling the voltage through the power tubes. You only have to be concerned when one of those lights stays on solid, meaning it needs to be changed out.

But if other lights (like the power and standby lights) are flashing on and off intermittently then changing out the tubes may not correct that. If that's the case then I would recommend you contact our CARE team directly and have the go over everything with you. You can reach CARE by phone at 702-800-8290 (US) or +44 1562 732290 (UK) or send us an email to CARECREA@music-group.com and one of our technical CARE specialists will be glad to assist you. If the amp needs to be sent in for service then they will be able to guide you on the best way to handle that as well.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to assist you here in the forum.
