    Windows 10 April 2018 Update

There's some reports over on the Reaper forum that the Windows 10 April 2018 update broke WASAPI.

If you need WASAPI for your work you may want to do some reading before installing the update. ASIO appears to work without issue.

If you don't know how to block Windows 10 from downloading an update I'd suggest Googling that as well.

Here's my method of choice: Windows won't download updates on a metered connection.

The update broke all of my audio in Windows 10. Had to reinstall all the drivers and upgrade to the latest UMC driver 4.38. I also noticed when you change the audio resolution in the UMC driver, it no longer updates windows sound device resolution causing a conflict. I was losing audio every so opften and had to power cycle the unit. Now as long as they match (do it manually) everything seems to work perfectly.
