I hope I'm posting in the right forum...
I recently bought a used PMP 2000 mixer head from a guy that bought it new. IT appears in great shape, but has some clipping issues.
I am running two 200W 8ohm Yorkville cabs through the right output, and two Kustom 200W 8ohm cabs through the left output as monitors.
problem is I'm clipping even talking into the mic...it even clips when I have the gains turned all the way down. yes I have tried the pad button, but once it gets turned up to even hear it it is clipping.
what would cause it to clip with just a single SM58 beta plugged in and the gains all the way down?
effects are down and the EQ's are off.

any help would be great...I'm thinking there is something seriously wrong with the mixer.

Hi Tim,

Welcome to the forum. If you have the gains all the way down and you still have clipping with a dynamic mic as an input, I would suspect you have a problem with the mixer as well.
